Jennifer Fehder Viers - Studio Owner
Artistic & Creative Director: Dance Team Coach & Choreographer

At the age of 3 Jennifer took her first Creative Movement dance class and that ignited a lifelong passion for dance!! Jennifer has studied various forms of dance including Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Modern, Hip-hop, and Musical Theatre. As a member of a competitive dance team for over 14 years, Jennifer danced her way onto a number of competitive stages winning many different awards and titles for both dance and voice, and enjoyed the opportunity to travel to and perform in various competitions, shows, and events around the region.

She received her dance training at The Preparatory Dance Program at U of L, The Louisville Ballet School, and several local dance studios in Louisville and Indiana. Jennifer was a member of the Assumption Dance Team and Planet Dance Senior Dance Team.

During her years of training she was fortunate enough to train under a variety of notable teachers and choreographers through master classes, workshops, and summer intensives which instilled in her a passion for many different styles of dance. Jennifer has attended classes at the Broadway Dance Center, Steps on Broadway and The Pulse Teacher’s workshop where she had the chance to study with some of dance industry’s finest, such as Mia Michaels, Tyce Diorio, Jason Parsons, Sheila Barker, Brian Friedman, Frank Hatchett, and Dan Cooney to name just a few.

Jennifer was one of several back-up dancers for Martha Reeves (Singer of "Dance'n in The Streets) during the Pegasus Parade when Martha Reeve's was the Celebrity Mistress of Ceremonies. In addition to performing five years in the Louisville Ballet's "Nutcracker," Jennifer has also performed in more than 35 musicals, dramas, and comedies at many local theaters including Derby Dinner Playhouse, Stage One, Music Theatre of Louisville, Center Stage, Bunbury Theatre, Clarksville Little Theatre and the Bomhard. Jennifer has also been in commercials and print ads (newspaper). While attending the University of Louisville she studied Elementary Education and Child Psychology and took classes in theater and voice.

Jennifer has been teaching dance and theater for over sixteen years. She worked with Music Theater of Louisville during their summer camps and their community outreach program at area elementary schools. She has been a guest instructor for several dance schools and was the Director of the dance program at a local children’s sports and recreation facility for 2 years. Jennifer is a passionate and accomplished performer and choreographer and with her strong teaching background, as she has gotten older, teaching has become the greater of her two passions!

In 2006 Jennifer achieved her childhood dream and opened her own dance studio. She has enjoyed watching her student’s abilities grow from year to year as they develop their own skills and passions for dance. She hopes to be able to share her passion for dance and performing with her students for many years to come, so that they too, can know the joy that dance and the performing arts can bring.




Sarah Fain  - Instructor: Ballet/Tap/Jazz/Technique

Ms. Sarah is a native of Louisville and graduate of Western Kentucky University. She began studying dance at the age of 3 and has been dancing ever since.  With over 20 years of teaching experience she is thrilled to be teaching at Elite! She was the Dance Captain and Assistant Show Director for Capone's Dinner and Show in Orlando, FL as well as the director and choreographer for their Lunchbox Theatre Children's Series. 

She has performed with Allenberry Playhouse ( Crazy For You, Sugar Babies), The Grand Palace with Dino Kartsonakis in Branson, MO,  Tokyo Disneyland, Holland America Cruise Line, Celtic Pulse Irish Dance Troupe, Neil Goldburg's Cirque and Poet Productions as a dancer and aerialist.  Sarah has also been a judge for many regional and national dance competitions in the midwest and southern regions.  In addition to teaching at Elite, Sarah also teaches Creative Movement to preschoolers and works with Ballard High School's Theatre department as choreographer for their spring musical.


Anna Cary - Pre-school Director
Recreational Class Instructor & Dance Team Coach/Choreographer

Anna has studied a variety of dance forms including classical ballet, lyrical, jazz, modern, clogging, tap, and hip hop. From Lexington, South Carolina, Anna has been dancing for 24 years. She studied with the Carolina Ballet and several other local studios and dance professionals. Anna graduated from Presbyterian College with degrees in dance and psychology.

Anna was a member of the PC dance ensemble for four years. In her time there, she also featured some of her choreography in lyrical, ballet, and clogging performance. Anna did honors research on dance for the physically and mentally disabled entitled "Bodies in Commotion." As part of this research she had several opportunities to work with and dance with a variety of dancers. She has won several regional and national awards for her dance performance and her students dance performances.

Anna has been teaching dance for 9 years and has taught children and adults of all ages.  She challenges her students to be the best they can be and is a positive and nurturing dance instructor. Anna has been a member of the Elite staff for three years. She is the Pre-School Director and a team Choreographer at Elite Academy of Dance and Performing Arts.



Courtney - Lyrical/Contemporary/Acro/Gymnastics Director
Recreational Classes & Lyrical/Contemporary & Jazz Dance Team Coach

Courtney a native of Louisville, KY  began dancing at the age of four.  She is experienced in multiple dance techniques including ballet, jazz, modern, acro, contemporary, and musical theatre.

In her earlier years as a dancer, Courtney competed at many dance competitions including Dynamite, JamFest, Dance masters of the Bluegrass, Kids Artist Revue, Star Systems, NexStar, etc.  She won many individual titles and group awards including a national title with the DuPont Manual Dazzlers dance team at NDA.
Courtney is a graduate from the Youth Performing Arts School (YPAS) as a dance major and recently graduated from the dance department at Western Kentucky University. 

During high school, she performed with a modern dance company located in Louisville, the "Moving Collective Dance Company" and was chosen to study at the Governor's school of the Arts (GSA). 

Courtney travels throughout the region to perform in festivals and for companies such as High School Dance festival (Miami,FL;Norfolk,VA), American College Dance Festival (Akron, OH: gala performer), Jazz World Congress (Philadelphia, PA), Oregon Shakespeare Festival (Ashland, OR) and "OverSeas Dance" (Italy).  She has studied dance with well-known companies in the professional dance world like Bill T. Jones Dance Company, Visceral Dance Company and Diavolo Dance Company.


Kristin McDonald - Instructor: Ballet/Tap/Jazz/Technique

Joshua - Instructor: Hip Hop/Jazz 
Recreational Class Instructor & Dance Team Coach/Choreographer

Joshua is student at the University of Louisville, studying Health and Sports Sciences.  After entering college, Joshua quickly emerged himself into Louisville's hip hop scene. From dancing on local hip hop teams, to musical performances ("HairSpray", "Dallas Cole School of the Arts," and "American Juke Box"), even choreographing his own videos, Josh began to develop his own brand and style. He gains inspiration for his choreography from many origins including the lyrics, pitch, and tempo of a song, creating movements to interpret the artist’s meaning. His classes focus on utilizing the fundamentals of movement to create interesting and abstract pictures creatively convey meaning. Josh wants to instill in his students a love of movement and dance so that they can find their own identities as dancers. Along with being a member of Keen Dance Theater, Joshua continues his training in Ballet and Jazz to broaden his opportunities and to take his career to the next level.


Kathleen Anderson - Ballet Instructor

Kathleen cannot remember a time when she did not want to be a ballet dancer. Her dance career began at age seven with ballet classes.  She has an extensive background in dance, especially in classical ballet. Her training includes a summer in France at the Nice Opera Ballet School, University of Louisville Dance Academy, Louisville Civic Ballet Company, 2 years at American Ballet Theatre School, and the University Of Cincinnati Conservatory Of Music where she earned both a BFA and MA in Dance.  Her professional career includes dancing and teaching with Cincinnati Ballet, Louisville Civic Ballet, and New Orleans Ballet and New Orleans Contemporary Dance Company. Kathleen has many years of experience teaching all levels of ballet, and has been teaching both Children and Adult Ballet classes, including professional dancers in the Louisville Area for many years.

Her goal for all her students is to pass on a sense of self-discipline and confidence and to teach solid technique while instilling in her students her joy and love of dance.  We are very fortunate to have Kathleen on our Staff at Elite Academy! She is a gifted Ballet Instructor and both Children and Adults love her classes!!!


Margie Kathleen - Ballet Instructor

Margie has been teaching Ballet for over 12 years. Her credentials include Director of the Harmony Elementary Dance Club, Dance Designs, 360 Dance, New Castle Regional Ballet Company, and the Louisville Ballet School. Ms. Kathleen holds a B.F.A. from the University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music where she attended on scholarship; performing Principal roles in Original Ballets and Contemporary pieces choreographed by Faculty and guest Artists from the Cincinnati Ballet and Houston Ballet. Her training started with Pittsburgh Ballet Theater, New Castle Regional Ballet, and Mansur Kamaletdinov – former Ballet Master of the Kirov Ballet. Upon graduation; Ms. Kathleen retired from dancing due to chronic knee injuries; and is a dedicated mother and teacher. Promoting healthy children and dancers by becoming a Pilates instructor; to help young dancers and disabled children and adults prevent and rehabilitate injuries.


Guest Instructors

Erin Finn
Erin has been dancing since the age of three. She grew up in Louisville and attended Assumption High School. She recently graduated from the Honors College at Western Kentucky University in 2013 with a B.A. in dance and minor in biology. Erin performed in Western Kentucky University's Dance Company throughout college and participated in The American College Dance Festival for several years. She has danced both nationally and internationally, taking two trips to Italy where she performed and took class in several cities. Erin has attended several dance intensives with organizations in New York City such as the Alvin Ailey School and Complexions Contemporary Ballet Company. She has also participated in a winter intensive with the company Visceral Dance Chicago. After graduating Erin was hired to perform in the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, Oregon and the Mix Match festival in Los Angeles. She is currently back in Louisville taking class at the Louisville Ballet School and is excited for the upcoming year at Elite!


Emily - Instructor: Ballet/Tap/Jazz/HipHop

Emily began dancing at the age of 4 and hasn't stopped since. She grew up studying ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, and hiphop in the Seattle area. Emily continued dancing and performing ballet and jazz at Gonzaga University while working on her bachelor’s degree. In addition to this, she began to study vintage jazz and lindy hop at the age of 17. These dances inspired a new passion, and Emily continues to social dance and competes regionally in this capacity. Emily is currently working on a Masters in Teaching in order to be able to work with children both in the classroom and at the dance studio. She is thrilled to be a teacher at Elite, and looks forward to her classes each day.
